Evans Elementary School Announcements 2011-2012 SCHOOL THEME EVANS ELEMENTARY where LEARNING IS AN ADVENTURE! HOME AND SCHOOL NEWS Parents...Please check the Evans Home and School Website (click on the blue dropdown For Parents Tab and then Parent Organizations), for activities, fundraising, and deadlines or click here. 2012 - 2013 SCHOOL YEAR If you have not already informed Evans office that you will be moving at the end of the current school year or over the summer, please call Evans office at 610-705-6012 as soon as possible. Having this information as early as possible helps us with projecting enrollments for next year which might then impact on our staffing needs. Thank you! STUDENTS LAST DAY The School Board has approved Friday, June 8th, as the last student day since the district did not need to use the 3 emergency days that were built into the 2011-2012 school calendar. 2012 - 2013 SCHOOL CALENDAR Please click here to view the new 2012 - 2013 School Year Calendar. APPROPRIATE WARM WEATHER ATTIRE Just A Reminder ... Open-toed shoes or sandals are not appropriate attire for school as they create a safety hazard when departing from the bus or on the playground. District policy dictates that "Open-toed shoes or sandals will not be allowed on the playground." Sneakers are recommended for your child to provide for his/her safety when using the equipment on the playground during recess. In addition, all stomachs are to be covered and shorts are to be no shorter than the mid-thigh (no "short shorts"). District policy also states that muscle shirts and tops with spaghetti straps are not allowed. The straps cannot be less than one-half inch. CAREER DAY 2012 - Graphic Designing and Animation TRANSITION TIMES NEWSLETTER - FOURTH GRADE PARENTS ONLY Fourth Grade Parents ... the attached newsletter -- TRANSITION TIMES -- is from the 5/6 Building. CAMP INVENTION CREATIVE KIDS WANTED! Camp Invention at The Flex Center (5/6/7 Grade Building) needs your help in designing a magnet- powered city this summer. Build roads, a shipyard, a mag-lev train, and more! You will also get to use tools to take things apart, like old VCRs, and see what is inside! Then you will get to travel through time in the C16000 Space Modulator and create wacky, mashed inventions! You will find lots more fun things to do at Camp Invention. Camp will be held June 25th through June 29th from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM for girls and boys entering Grades 1 through 6. Save $15 if you register by the end of May!
